Page 4: Tile (In Progress)

My sketches for my tile...

Using Illustrator (after I traced the image, making it into a vector) I formed my tile...

First I made a plain tile with the current sizes...

Then I mixed it up a bit...

My final tile!

Hand dawn and traced images

First I drew the chosen image (hand drawn and traced) and scanned it in...

I then had to find a colour swatch to use to colour the image...

After I had used threshold to sharpen the lines, I used my colour swatch to colour in the lines

Using the lasso tool, I coloured in the hair and shirt

I then created a single dot stamp to use for the shaded sections of the face and added a back colour.

Page 2 - Portrait Ideas

First I gathered ideas off of Pinterest...

Once I had found the photo I needed, I printed it off ready to draw!

Getting Down Ideas - Lyric Book

First I had to find a song that created imagery for me to work on...

Once I found a song and printed it, I got down some ideas of what I could draw from each line...

Next I used a 2x5 grid to plan out each page of the book...

Research - Typeface

Before I began drawing out my typefont, I used Pinterest to gather some ideas.

Final Pieces

Work In Progress - Back

I copied over the hearts, cropping out a section for space to write,
and 'hello' from the front for the back.

Using the same font as before, I wrote my name. Then I used the shape tool, drawing a line to section off the writing and hearts, and added a cute heart to the end.

I then put in my details, using a different font
('Hipsterish' from dafont) and it was complete.

The finished design

Once they were all grouped together and copied over,
the two designs were finished and it was time for printing!

Work In Progress - Front

Once I had my designs to follow, I got to work creating the front of my business card...

First I copied a simple heart, then copied that heart into a pattern for my background, making sure I had heats bleeding over the line. Using the magic tool, I selected various hearts and changed the colour.

I found a bigger heart from the internet, screen-shotting it and place it in on a new layer, and used the magic tool to colour it appropriately.

The finished design

I just had to add the 'hello' (idea from pinterest), find a font I liked on dafont and then the front was complete! All I had to do then was group the design together and copy them so I had a page full!

Drafting

After doing some research, I gathered the ideas I liked
and pieced them together to create two separate designs.

I then chose which design I preferred.

My Pinterest Board

Before I began deciding on a design, I used Pinterest to gather some ideas. Here I borrowed various designs to create some sketches for my final piece.
